DIY Bath Beauty Detox Recipes

These simple and effective detox bath recipes are perfect for rejuvenating, and replenishing your body and skin. Give yourself the power of relaxation and a soothing spa day from the comfort of your own home.

Oatmeal

If you suffer from dry, itchy, and flaky skin, then an oatmeal bath will be a comforting and soothing fit. This recipe is well known and has been used for a long time and we know you’ll just love it.

To prevent making a mess and possibly clogging up your drain, we recommend you add 1-2 cups of ground oats to a clean sock or cloth bag and allow it to soak in the warm bath water for 10-15 minutes. Use the same sock to gently rub and rest on your skin for added benefits.

Tea

When you’ve had a long and stressful day, what a better way to relax than a comforting bath!

Taking a tea bath is great for a multitude of reasons. The antioxidants in tea are rich and powerful and depending on the circumstance there are a variety of different herbs you can choose from.

If you have tight or sore muscles, then we’d suggest a nice green tea and lavender blend.

If you suffer from acne and other skin conditions chamomile works wonders!

Calm your nerves and moisturize your skin with jasmine blended with rose.

To easily make a tea bath you have multiple options.

1). Take a muslin bag with a tie and add your herbs and blends, close the bag and then tie around the faucet. This allows the water to pour over the tea and steep while the tub is filling.

2). Add 5-6 tea bags to your warm bath water and allow it to steep for 10-15 minutes.

Alternatively, you can brew a pot on the stove and pour into your bath once filled.

There a many different types of tea besides the ones stated above, and we recommend experimenting and trying out many different kinds to find which ones suits you best

Milk & Honey with Epsom Salt

The anti-aging, stress relieving, and skin soothing benefits of this bath recipe should be enough to get you excited to try it. If you need more convincing just know that honey is known for rejuvenating your skin. Combined with the milk to give your skin a smooth and soft feel. The Epsom salt helps to loosen and relax the nerves and stiff muscles throughout your body.

Mix 5 tablespoons honey, 1 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons Epsom salt into your bath then rinse your body off with plain warm water after you’ve had your soak.

Lemon Juice & Baking Soda

If you seen some of our other recipes you may be familiar with the beneficial uses of lemon and baking on your skin.

Lemons are known for drawing out toxins and other germs from your body.. The baking soda acts as a mild abrasive to remove gunk from the skin, shrinking your pores.

This is a powerful recipe and you only need a few drops of lemon juice, and 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda. We recommend doing this bath no more than once per week.

Essential Oils

The great thing about essential oils is they can be used as a stand-alone to your bath or mixed with other oils as well as any of the other items we have previously mentioned in this article.

Powerful and beneficial, always take care when using essential oils in your bath. As such, you only need a few drops when using oils.

Here’s just a few essential oils and some of their uses:

Geranium – For relieving stress and tension and balancing out oily skin.

Chamomile – Keeps you feeling happy and soothes the body allowing for a good nights sleep.

Tea Tree – If you been suffering from a cold or minor flu bug, especially during the cold winter months then this oil is perfect for you.

Lavender – Soothes and calms your nerves, relieves stress and other tension.

There are a ton of different E/O’s and depending on your specific needs, they are great for trying out, mix & matching and general experimentation in general. The best part is you can find them in almost any beauty, home, and big box stores literally everywhere!
