Soothing Cream for Itchy Skin
Itchy skin is really annoying and repeatedly scratching can eventually cause minor cuts and small wounds to form, and you don’t want to get an infection.
Help to relieve your itchy skin with a soothing cream that you can put together in a few minutes.
What You Need:
1 tbsp. Water
1 tbsp. Calamine Lotion
2 tsp. Bentonite Clay
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 teaspoon glycerin (optional)
Lavender, Peppermint or Tea Tree Oil
In a small bowl, combine ingredients and whisk together until smooth and creamy. (Adjust amount of each ingredient used as needed.)
Apply to affected areas by gently massaging onto skin for 2-3 minutes.
Store in a cool place, like the refrigerator and use within a week.
Bentonite Clay is commonly used in homemade cosmetics and works as a powerful detoxifier.
Calamine lotion works great for itchy skin as it contains properties which help to sooth itchy skin caused by poison ivy, and poison oak. It also works great to relieve sunburn.
UPDATE: We we’re going to post a recipe on how to make your own Calamine Lotion, but it just seems easier if you have the lotion already. If you are interested, we can post a recipe sometime in the future.
